Thank you to wcdixon, caroline, and the silent MILLIONS (I'm so totally sure!) who have thought of me recently. I am getting better and having people skilled in such issues checking 'em out, so - cautiously optimistic.
I think I will be proposing something similar to Hiro's Blog for 'Heroes' for the Buzz Comedy for the Public Broadcaster - If I can manage to get it cleared, I can set myself up to write for a specific character - always good. But I think the response 'Hiro' is getting is indicative of how much that sort of thing can affect people's investment into the character and the show. Even if I leave and hand it off to someone else, it'll be a good promotional tool.

Glad to see you back in good spirits and posting again. I am into week five of a bout with bronchitis and it really does demoralize you. Yay to both of us for being on the road to recovery.
My big news ... I may be working on a concert special. Nothing fancy, just PMing for a friend. It's a small project but could be fun.
I am also mulling a new reality concept but wonder if I've just lost my mind because its kind of negative. I'll keep you posted.
I am so sorry about the bronchitis! Being sick forever does suck - it's tired of being tired. :P I hope you're feeling a lot better.
And that's awesome! Good luck with it - I have heard interesting tales of MTV concert specials, so it indeed could be fun. I always had a blast in my adventures at the Film Festival.
And - well. Negative is sort of the nature of the beast. Which is weird, because I do have a love for reality tv - it's been my main academic focus for most of my time in communications. The plus side is, reality is inexpensive, so you may well be able to get it done. Do keep me posted!
(And maybe I will put up a link to my Survivor/Apprentice paper sometime.)
My current secret fix is actually The Dragon's Den. I know it is a format, but now that they're warmed up, they're getting feisty. For me, this is precisely the kind of show CBC should be doing.
I would love to read that paper ... if you don't want to post it to all and sundry, feel free to email me.
BTW, looks like the special bit the dust. One of the talent is giving us a hard time. Only up side is that the manager of the other talent in question loved me at the meeting we had last week and is taking a suggestion I made to re-jig another project and if it goes anywhere, I may get a gig out of it (totally off the cuff suggestion, too thank you divine inspiration).
Stupid talent. :P
Well, at least something may come out of it. And I will work on finding a way to post papers and not spam the world - or I'll email. :)
