I watched ANTM while having an arguement with the husband. I didn't miss much. The arguement was at least somewhat productive and ended well before Lost.
We wouldn't fight during Lost. Like, duh.
Lost was really good. But it's The Nine that I thought about all night, thought about when I went to bed, thought about in the shower before work. I'm -still- thinking about The Nine, and I don't know if it's because it's just new or because it is actually that compelling. The tag line - 'What happened in there?' - is freaking brilliant because that is ALL I WANT TO KNOW. What happened to Felicia? What made them so close? Why did they want to protect one of the hostage takers? Questions on questions on questions, and I will personally look forward to figuring them out... but I worry that online fandom will do what they did to Lost, which is 'They don't tell us anything, this show sucks.' I hate that attitude - first, it's a character drama, so obviously whatever backstory we get will have more to do with character than events or grand conspiracy. Next - how the hell is a show supposed to remain interesting if we know everything up front?
Anyway, I wish I'd taped The Nine, 'cause wow. I could watch that a few times.
Lost was good, but it was a quiet opening - not a bad thing, just different. It seemed to show that the Others have their own issues that might work for the Lostaways they now have. My main question was: what are they doing with them? The husband said they're breaking them, but to what end? Why?
I know that answer isn't coming any time soon, but I like to think about it, which is why I like Lost and The Nine - and other shows like it - so much. I get to think about filling in the blanks.

The Nine was good, wasn't it.
The list of shows to watch keeps growing ...and growing...and growning...
hiya minion ...
the nine is tormenting me, it's like crack ... i've watched the pilot FOUR times
enjoying your blog, and admire all of you who have the dedication to blog, because i am frankly too lazy
i would love to know who you work for, but won't ask ... i just quit a crap job at another production/distribution company and can relate to a lot of what you have said ... feels good being free again
wcdixon: No kidding. I tried to get Husband-of-Minon to watch The Nine, but he begged off, saying he watches too much TV already. I shoulda told him in our house, that talk is BLASPHEMY! ;)
caroline: Me too. I NEED to KNOW, you know? I didn't tape it (no PVR yet either :(), but it's all I can think about in terms of TV right now. Only Alias was this effortless in hooking me before - even Lost took a bit of time.
I am glad you're enjoying it - nice to know that my whining is at least a bit entertaining. ;)
I wish I were free - just got a bit of scarifying news - that is, that the marketing replacement is not being hired after all. This scares me both on a staffing and on a oh-god-let-me-keep-my-job level. As for who - check out HGTV for a design show with straight men as hosts.
I'm likely being too careful, but I work for nice people who are unfortunately bad at running a business. :P
I will warn you, the PVR, should you decide to get one, will ruin you. I will live on Kraft dinner before I let this baby go. Sad sad.
You mean there is actually a design show with straight hosts on HGTV? Really? The mind boggles.
At least you say they're nice people. I worked for assholes who were bad at running the business.
I am jealous of your new baby. I am toiling on a four year old PC that is getting more and more difficult. I fear a new computer may have to be purchased soon, despite what the budget is telling me. I think I want a MAC next time, but all my software is PC so that's a pain in the ass and a huge extra expense.
Happy Turkey Day.
Once the debt goes down, the PVR is mine and I will never let it go. I had digital cable whne it first came out and it was hard enough giving that up.
And yeah, it's a pule that they're nice. The producers are anyway, and the people here are cool. The hosts? Eh. They don't talk to me, though.
I just snagged all my software from work. ;) And I had a seven-year-old PC, so I know your pain. I wouldn't have given it up if it hadn't exploded on me. :P
Enjoy your turkey as well - and the nicer weather. :)
